We took off last night for our family’s first-ever trip to Europe. We’ll be gone almost three weeks, and we managed with just one checked bag and some carryon backpacks. We’ll have laundry in some of our lodgings.
We had an overnight flight to Paris on Air France. The service was definitely better than on domestic flights. They brought River a little box of wooden toys, and everyone got wet towels to refresh. The food was surprisingly decent.
We saw both a sunset and a sunrise on our flight. The sunrise was gorgeous!
We all got a little sleep, and at one point I had both River and Liam sleeping with their heads on my lap. ❤️
As soon as we landed in Paris to await our connection to Rome, we went to the lounge. The kids were excited to be able to eat M&M’s here because they have no food dye here. Bill and I had fancy coffee once I figured out the machine.
We thought it was funny that they had little cans of olives next to the bread and jam.
The airport terminal was really pretty.
By the time we got to Rome, everyone was really tired. We ordered dinner to be delivered to our Airbnb around when we would arrive. It was fun trying to figure out what the things in the menus were!
