Weekend at deBenneville

Note: this is from about six months before the posted date.

We spent the first weekend in October at camp deBenneville Pines with Tapestry, OCUUC, and Laguna Beach. It was so nice to see old friends and be back at our home away from home.

The kids spent the first evening exploring the camp and claiming the fort. Liam settled in with a group of outdoor explorers and commenced a weekend of fort building.

The kids made slime, and had a lot of fun playing with it. Liam made his into a fist. Willow and Berkana worked together.

For dessert, River ate a pat of butter straight from the foil wrapper.

Liam and his friends discovered a “lost fort” way out in the woods. They spent as much time as possible out there.

There were a lot of important forest things to do, like poking rotting logs with sticks. This is even more fun with a friend.

Willow and Berkana were almost inseparable.

River and Opal danced in the talent show.

Liam stayed up late laughing and playing Telestrations.

We made catapults, and used them to knock things down.

We hiked down to a spot with lots of fairy houses. We added on to some and Liam built his own.

We had a great weekend and, as always, we were sorry to leave.
